Arthur Jehu Stanley, Jr. : ウィキペディア英語版 | Arthur Jehu Stanley, Jr. Arthur Jehu Stanley, Jr. (March 21, 1901 – January 27, 2001) was a United States federal judge. Born in Lincoln County, Kansas, Stanley was a sergeant in the United States Army during World War I, from 1918 to 1919 and a Fireman, First Class in the United States Navy from 1921 to 1925. He received an LL.B. from the Kansas City School of Law in 1928, and was in private practice in Kansas City, Kansas from 1928 to 1933, a County attorney of Wyandotte County, Kansas from 1934 to 1940, and a member of the Kansas State Senate from 1940 to 1941. He was a Lieutenant Colonel in the United States Army during World War II, from 1941 to 1945 returning to private practice in Kansas City from 1945 to 1958. On June 25, 1958 Stanley was nominated by President Dwight D. Eisenhower to the seat on the United States District Court for the District of Kansas vacated by Arthur J. Mellott. Stanley was confirmed by the United States Senate on July 3, receiving his commission on July 7. He served as chief judge from 1961 to 1971, assuming senior status on April 1, 1971. Stanley served in that capacity until his death, in Leavenworth, Kansas on January 27, 2001. ==Sources==
